🎄 Holiday Newsletter: Give Children Strength – Together with the “FDDS” Foundation

Christmas is a time of warmth, love, closeness, and togetherness. For many of us, it is also a moment when we rediscover how to share our time, kindness, and hearts. But for many children, this season is not filled with joy. It often means loneliness, fear, lack of safety, and a world far from the one every child deserves.

That is why this year, I invite you to support the mission of the “Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę” Foundation (FDDS) – one of the most important organizations in Poland working every single day to protect children and provide them with professional help, therapy, support, and a sense of safety.

FDDS is a non-profit organization that has been working for many years to ensure that every child can grow up free from violence, neglect, and fear.It is a foundation that sees what many overlook. It stands up for those who cannot ask for help themselves. Children are always at the center of its mission their safety, dignity, and emotional well-being.

💙 What Does the Foundation Do?

1. Children’s Support Centers

These are specialized facilities where children who have experienced trauma or abuse receive free, comprehensive assistance, including:

  • therapy

  • psychological consultations

  • legal support

  • educational help

These are places where healing begins, and hope becomes possible again.

2. 116 111 Children and Youth Helpline

A 24/7 phone line where children and young people can talk to a psychologist whenever they are afraid, hurt, alone, or unsure where to turn. This helpline saves lives every day, also offering support in Ukrainian and Russian.

3. Support for Parents and Teachers

FDDS educates adults because a child should never have to carry the responsibility for its own safety alone. The foundation teaches how to:

  • recognize signs of abuse,

  • support a child in crisis,

  • talk about emotions and difficult experiences,

  • protect children online.

4. Support for Refugee Families

The foundation offers therapy and psychological care to children and families who have escaped war. This gives Ukrainian children the chance to regain balance and safety.

5. Research and National Standards

FDDS conducts nationwide studies, develops child protection standards, and contributes to systemic changes that make Poland safer for children.

🎁 Why Your Support Matters - Especially Now

At Christmas, it’s easy to forget that not all children are sitting at a warm table surrounded by adults who care. Not all children have a safe room, a protective hand to hold, or someone who stands by them.

Even a small contribution can help:

  • provide one hour of therapy for a child who has experienced trauma

  • keep the helpline operating

  • educate adults who save children every day

You don’t have to stand on the front line – you can support those who already are.

🌟 How Can You Help?

There are many ways, each meaningful:

✔ Make a one-time donation

Every contribution makes a difference.

✔ Become a regular supporter

Ongoing support gives the foundation stability and allows long-term planning of therapy and assistance.

✔ Donate 1.5% of your tax

It costs you nothing – but can change a child’s life.

✔ Organize a fundraiser

For Christmas, birthdays, at work, or on social media.

✔ Spread the word

Sometimes the most important thing is helping one more person learn, understand, and care.

Christmas Is a Time of Hope

Every child deserves a safe childhood. Every child deserves protection. Every child deserves adults who see them, hear them, and take action. So this year, if you can, please help. Give something that cannot be bought: strength, support, protection, and a chance for a better future. Together we can make this December the beginning of a brighter chapter in a child’s life.
